明治16年（1883）三重県四日市に生まれる。通称は信男。別号は卓晁。渥美昇五郎の三男。
幼い頃から絵を好み、はじめ中島亨斎について容斎派の画法を学ぶ。のちに東京に出て鈴木赤城・村瀬玉田・尾竹竹坡に師事し、山水・花鳥を得意とした。名古屋・伊勢・桐生など各地を巡って研鑽を積む。日本画会・日本美術協会・審美画会などに出品し、一等褒状・三等褒状をはじめ受賞を重ねた。帝国絵画協会・巽画会の会員。横浜に住み、横浜の画家として大正期の番付にも名を連ねた。

Atsumi Sekiho (1883 – )
Atsumi Sekiho (born 1883) was a Nihonga (Japanese-style) painter born in Yokkaichi, Mie Prefecture. Drawn to painting from childhood, he first trained in the style of the Kikuchi Yosai school, then moved to Tokyo and studied under Murase Gyokuden and Odake Chikuha, among others, specializing in landscapes and bird-and-flower subjects. He traveled to Nagoya, Ise, Kiryu and elsewhere to refine his skills. He exhibited with the Japanese Painting Society, the Japan Art Association and other groups, receiving first- and third-class certificates of merit among several awards. He was a member of the Imperial Painting Association and the Tatsumi Painting Society. He lived in Yokohama and was listed as a Yokohama painter in painters' rankings of the Taisho era.
